It's Random Tuesday thoughts

  • I am writing this as I sit in my house with the HEAT on!! Wild weather around here, Mothers Day proved to be simply GORGEOUS and then yesterday was just a 'blah' kind of rainy, overcast, cool day with a low last night of 43. Weird weather for sure.

  • Why do the people who run regularly in my neighborhood tend to ignore that there's a sidewalk?? I love walking on our sidewalks, I don't get it!! Entire neighborhood paved with pretty white sidewalks, and they chose to play frogger with cars.

  • I think that there should be some reconsideration on the name of the planet: Uranus.

  • I can't believe that the end of the school year is nearing!! My oldest will be entering 6th grade next year.... middle school. wow.

  • We went to the Lazy 5 Ranch for the afternoon on Mothers Day, it was my pick.... and while we were there we were stampeded (is that even a word?) by some SERIOUS bulls. It's a drive through animal ranch where you can feed the animals.... here's the view from my windshield: ...they DID end up knocking those huge horns into the side of my SUV. Interesting experience, to be fair, no one in my car was scared... it was just funny.

  • Speaking of bulls, cows and such, over the weekend the hubby had planned to grille out a couple nice filet Mignon for a Mothers Day dinner at home, we eat red meat about 1 x a month if that.... anyway when he went out to clean the grille early in the day he found that some pretty important parts of it had rusted through.... so we had to get a new grille.

  • My brother-in-law/sister-in-law are officially adopting their little boy today!!! YAY!!! This has been a long awaited event and we're all so happy!! You can run over to her blog and send her some lovin if you want too!!
That's it for today, head over to The UnMom for more randomness....

What's with Uranus anyway?
Maybe it was a joke between those naming it. We'll never know :)

I heard my furnace kick on first thing this morning, and I sprinted to turn it back off again....hell no, I am far to cheap to pay for heat now ;)

Happy RTT!

I prefer running on the road because it's too easy to sprain an ankle on the sidewalks. Road = usually always flat, sidewalks = ups, downs and tilts.

Being a runner I have found that some sidewalks are slanted ever so slightly which makes it very uncomfortable to run on, also asphalt has more cushion hen concrete so that may be another reason they don't run on your sidewalk. I wouldn't take it personal...:)

o... I was thinking that the sidewalk would be better for them... tells you how much I run outdoors... I'm a treadmill junkie :) I like taking long walks outside!

You have to find the right eye doctor as far as Lasik for bad eyes-- mine were -11.75 and -12.25 before Lasik. Now I see 20/25 and 20/40. Major improvement! :)

I was turned down by MANY doctors for Lasik, until I found one who specialized in thin flap surgeries. He's helped a lot of people with eyes like mine be able to see better!

I always like saying Uranus when I'm mad at the hubby!

The Lazy 5 Ranch looks awesome!
Being a runner myself, your "frogger" comment made me LMAO........and yet I have no real answer for you as to WHY they run on the road. Maybe it makes them run faster?? You know, with all the cars darting around maybe it speeds up their adrenaline?!

I think my husband still likes to say the name "uranus". I don't understand why people run at all, nevermind on the street. I don't run unless I'm being chased by a zombie or some other creature that wants to cause me bodily harm.

Congrats to your BIL and SIL on the adoption - that is very exciting! Those were big bulls!
I run ... and sometimes the street pavement is less jarring than the sidewalk pavement -- just sayin' ....
