I lost count...
Isn't it funny how when it doesn't snow, you often hear complaints about having none? Then when it does snow, you often hear complaints that it has?? Same goes with rain, and the temperature in general. Weather conversation is sometimes the highlight of the day, and I've heard that it's the most popular conversation starter when there seems to be a lull in communication.
I have a mindset that winter should bring comfort food, holidays and snow, spring should bring showers and blooms and spring cleaning fever, summer should bring the heat, swimming pool visits, and trips to the beach(yay), and fall should bring some of the most amazing rustic colors EVER!!

no snow... so sad.

That's all we received... some drippy ice. Twenty minutes up the road, my dad's house received 2-3 inches of SNOW! My mom, 2 hours away received over a foot!

exciting
"mommy look"

I woke up at 7am, the room was bright and I knew the snowstorm had passed because the sun was glaring down on the white blanket of my yard and the brightness is almost blinding! Little J wasn't too far behind me waking up and when we got downstairs he said "mommy, look..... snooooowwwwwww!!"
We haven't ventured out yet...
But the view from our backard into the wooded area of the n'hood sure is sparkly!
I guess we have about 3-4 inches total, and it's sooo pretty!! It's melting a bit already, and sliding off of the side of the house and off of the outdoor toys, etc., we'll probably do the wrong thing, pack up the kids and head out to sight see.....
That's what my parents always did, so I feel the obligation to do the same :).

2nd Snow
The roads in front of our house are clear as can be and the driveway seems to be a thin sheet of snow with no ice... Little J woke up feeling MUCH better and was super excited when he looked outside and saw the snow covered yard.
Big E's going to be happy, for a not so typical reason...he has a project in class that he needed more time on last night - we had to make him stop working on it last night because he had TaiKwon Do class... so he'll be thrilled to know he can use a little time today to finish up what he wanted to do!
I'm doubting there will be any snowmen out of this one, there's not even enough out there to make snow cream or snow balls for that matter...
The sun is shining across the white blanket on my yard, that coupled with the bright blue sky makes for a perfect morning to sip on coffee (after eating french toast of course), sit by the window and stare out at natures beauty.
